This typical Sicilian country house is located 15 miles southeast of Agrigento, three miles from the ancient town of Palma di Montechiaro and a short drive from the sea. Rustic and charming, it is a place to experience authentic Sicilian hospitality and to relax in a splendid natural setting.
The masseria has been restored to house nine traditionally furnished bedrooms in the main farm building and two separate conversions hold seven more contemporary rooms. The communal areas are in the main farmhouse, including the library and the excellent restaurant with its outdoor dining terrace. A highlight of a stay here is a cooking lesson with Silvia, the charming owner. It is a working farm surrounded by olive groves and produces some of Sicily’s best olive oil. In the autumn you can witness or even participate in the olive harvest itself. The ‘gebbia’, which for centuries was used for irrigation, has recently been converted into a small infinity swimming pool. This is the perfect base to spend time exploring the surrounding area at a relaxed pace.
