Villa San Michele is nestled on the hillside below the small town of Fiesole and is one of our favourite hotels in Italy. Under the watchful eye of the manager, Emanuele Manfroi, service is sublime and its location overlooking Florence is breath-taking. The 15th-century former monastery has a famous façade attributed to Michelangelo and a beautiful loggia terrace - dinner here is one of life’s great pleasures. We can highly recommend the cooking classes with executive chef Alessandro Cozzolino – further details on request. There are 42 bedrooms, located either in the main building or amid roses and lemon trees in the terraced gardens, and a beautiful heated outdoor summer swimming pool. A courtesy shuttle bus runs regularly to and from the Duomo. No lift.
