Casa Fantini

Italian Lakes 3 nights low season from £998 per person

Few visitors to Lake Orta venture beyond the town of Orta San Giulio, but we recommend you head to the village of Pella on the western shores and you’ll discover one of the best hotels to open in the region for many years. Daniela Fantini’s dream was to create a place in harmony with the tranquil surroundings and in consultation with architect and furniture designer Piero Lissoni she has done just this.

The ‘old house’ with its rustic bar and two sumptuous suites leads to a beautiful modern structure, home to a delightful lounge and nine bedrooms, each with a terrace looking out across the gardens to Isola San Giulio. Plenty of activities can be arranged by the attentive staff including guided nature walks in the hills above the village, private boat tours and photography classes. You can board the ferry to discover more of the lake or simply relax in the beautiful Italian garden with its stylish summer swimming pool or join the locals as they stroll along the ‘lungolago,’ the promenade which is the village’s focal point. Light dishes are served throughout the day and evening meals are prepared at the village’s best restaurant ‘Imbarcadero’ and delivered to order. From Pella, you can reach both the resort of Stresa on Lake Maggiore and Milan’s Malpensa airport in 45 minutes. Highly recommended.

Milan & The Italian Lakes

By The Kirker Team, 18 November 2016

One of my favourite trips to Italy so far has been my recent trip to Milan and the Italian lakes. The trip started in the fashion capital Milan, where we spent the night at the Carlton Baglioni. The hotel is perfectly located with an entrance on the shopping street Via della Spiga and is only 10 minutes’ walk from the famous La Scala theatre and Milan’s spectacular Duomo. After checking into…

The Italian Lakes

By David Lugg, 18 November 2016

Much praise has been heaped upon Italy’s man-made magnificence - and justifiably so!  Siena, Florence, Venice and Rome are all wonderful destinations in their own right and they were not built in a day, however, its lakes have been formed over many thousands of years and have long been a place of inspiration, exploration and relaxation.  Situated in the far north, in the shadow of…

Our whole experience was unforgettable thanks to Kirker. The little touches such as Prosecco on arrival and speedy boarding just made the whole experience even more memorable. Thank you Kirker for appreciating the importance holidays have in our increasingly stressed and busy existence.
