With a history dating back to 1813, Meneghetti began its’ transformation into a hotel in 2000 when the original stone buildings, reminiscent of a Tuscan villa were carefully restored, new vines and olive groves were planted and a modern winery was constructed. Since then, the 12 hectares of the estate, set within the undulating Istrian countryside, have been further enhanced to offer 58 rooms, suites and residences housed in stone buildings in keeping with the historic style – interiors are relaxed but luxurious and many include their own private pools.
The excellent fine dining restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, and in the warmer months (May – October, weather depending) lunch can be enjoyed at Oliveto next to the outdoor swimming pool or at the secluded Beach Club, which is reached in a few minutes by a regular shuttle. The spa boasts two heated indoor swimming pools, a sauna, steam bath and treatments and a visit to the winery for a tasting of the award-winning wines is not to be missed. The hotel is situated 30 minutes' drive from Rovinj, 45 minutes from Porec and an hour from the picturesque hilltop village of Motovun.
