Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain

Paris 3 nights low season from £978 per person

One of the most elegant new hotels to open in Paris this year, Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain is located in the heart of the Left Bank, in the lively and historic district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, inspiration to Simone de Beauvoir, Albert Camus and Pablo Picasso.

Dating back to 1642, the three buildings which house the hotel were at times home to TS Eliot and James Joyce, who completed his opus Ulysses while staying at the property. Following a complete refurbishment by designer Didier Benderli, it offers 47 rooms and suites, elegantly furnished with Art Deco touches in wood, brass, marble and terrazzo. There is a tranquil CODAGE spa, the cosy James Joyce bar and a highly-anticipated new restaurant, Les Parisiens, where award-winning chef Thibault Sombardier has created a menu inspired by the flavours of his childhood spent growing up between Burgundy and Beaujolais.
