I spent the first last weekend of November in Copenhagen and it was magical.
I stayed at Hotel 71 Nyhavn, right in the harbour district. The location was perfect – colourful buildings, boats bobbing in the water with the Danish royal family practically around the corner. I would definitely recommend booking a room overlooking the docks. Waking up to this view was definitely a highlight.

One evening I went to the Hotel d’Angleterre for the big Christmas light switch-on. As the lights came alive, a choir sang carols from the balcony above the square. It was one of those moments where you just stop and take it all in – festive, joyful, and a little bit magical.
The Christmas markets were everywhere, buzzing with people, stalls, and twinkling lights. Wondering through them, sipping mulled wine and soaking up the atmosphere was the perfectway to start this Christmas season.
As per my highlights , I would definitely say the Tivoli Gardens, which looked like something out of a fairytale with all the lights and decorations. And the boat tour at sunset, – we did a group guided tour, drifting along the canals as the sky turned pink and the city lights reflected on the water
