Our latest programme of escorted tours comprises a wide range of destinations throughout Europe and beyond. Favourites such as Sicily, St Petersburg and the Italian Lakes return, and have been joined by carefully selected new destinations:
We will travel to Bohemia and Moravia in the Czech Republic to explore grand country houses; Krakow and Warsaw to visit Poland's finest mediaeval castles; and to Bilbao, Cantabria and Castille to discover some of Spain's most fascinating yet under-visited regions, home to modern art, historic monasteries and delicious tapas.
Our first ever tour to the island of Cuba will be led by art historian Sian Walters in January 2016, with a second holiday in November. The itinerary includes not only such iconic Cuban experiences as the aroma fine cigars, the taste of refreshing mojitos and the sound of classic jazz, but also offers a number of individually selected visits to cultural institutions including the Cuban National Ballet, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and studios of several local artists.
Following the success of our holidays to the Metropolitan Opera in New York, we will also have a new itinerary to the East Coast of the US in 2016. Galleries & Museums of Washington DC, Philadelphia & New York combines three of the most fascinating American cities in an eight night holiday including visits to the Phillips Collection, Barnes Foundation, MoMA and the Frick as well as historic Georgetown and the National Mall.
Music lovers will enjoy two new exclusive Kirker Music Festivals - to the volcanic island of Tenerife during January, and to the historic city of Salamanca in north-west Spain: with performances by Spanish musicians including a soprano, pianist and a five piece Baroque ensemble. We also return for our popular festivals in Ischia (for the 11th consecutive year), Mallorca and at the Hotel Tresanton in Cornwall.
Our complement of Opera Holidays includes not only the grand Italian theatres of Venice and Milan, but new visits to opera destinations in Central Europe including Budapest, Vienna and Leipzig - where we will attend a full Ring Cycle in the city of Wagner's birth.
