At the beginning of April, we had the pleasure of attending a private rehearsal with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at the Royal Festival Hall, as they prepared for the evening’s performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion. We were joined by a small number of Kirker clients and some supporters of the OAE to enjoy this exclusive behind-the-scenes preview, followed by a drink in the new 5th Floor Bar overlooking the Thames.
Bach's music has an extraordinary power and it was a priveligi to see the collaborative energy of the Orchestra working in harmony, under the baton of conductor Jonathan Cohen and with magnificent solos from countertenor Iestyn Davies. It was also a great preview of Kirker’s upcoming Bach Tour in June, and a chance to meet Bach expert and Kirker Tour Leader, Oliver Condy.
