Kruger National Park
Originally created in 1898 to control hunting, this iconic national park has been welcoming wildlife enthusiasts ever since. We feature a lodge within the reserve which has its own private concession; so you will not see vehicles from other lodges during game drives; however, the area is so vast that ‘Big Five’ sightings will be less frequent than in Sabi Sands. Direct flights link Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport with Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Livingstone.

David Rattray established a team that are renowned for both their knowledge of the Zulu Wars and their warm hospitality; their long, family associations with the area and its people allow guests some unique Zulu perspectives. David’s wife Nicky has worked tirelessly since her husband’s death so that Fugitives Drift Lodge can continue to be one of the most captivating places to stay. They lovingly restored their reserve and, over the years, have assembled a wonderful collection of Zulu War memorabilia.
