From master 'fromagers' to acclaimed winemakers, the gastronomic traditions behind wine and cheese in France combine art and science in equal measure. Experience a unique insight into these two inimitably French delicacies through the lens of science, tradition and terroir. Based in the vibrant culinary capital Lyon, this tour blends hands-on experiences, expert insights and indulgent tastings to uncover the fascinating processes behind two of France’s most beloved exports. Throughout the tour we will be joined by French culinary expert and author Carolyn Boyd, and Ned Palmer, who will give talks drawing on his 25 years of experience as an author, journalist and cheesemonger. Highlights include the historic 'bouchons' of Lyon, the home of Comté cheese in the Jura Mountains, a guided tour and lunch inside the atmospheric Tunnel de la Collonge, where cheeses mature in perfect conditions, and both wine and chocolate tasting in the Rhône Valley.
