Belmond La Residencia

Mallorca 3 nights low season from £1,046 per person

This wonderful hotel is located in the tiny artists’ and writers’ village of Deia, a mile inland from Mallorca’s wildly beautiful northwest coast.

Two manor houses, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, have been lovingly restored with great style, charm and character, combining original antiques with classical furnishings. You can play tennis, swim in one of the two outdoor swimming pools, or walk in the hills. There is also a spa with an indoor swimming pool. ‘El Olivo’ is considered by many to offer Mallorca’s finest gastronomic dining experience in a spectacular setting. In addition, typical Mallorcan specialities are served in the ‘Café Miró’ bistro. The 71 bedrooms combine rustic charm with simple, understated elegance and many have spectacular views of the village and mountains beyond (we particularly recommend those with their own terrace or garden).

3 night low season price from £1,046 per person, 3 night high season price from £1,598 per person

However, I am pleased to say that there is so much more to this beautiful island than meets most tourists’ eyes. What struck me was the diversity of this island, to the north there is a spectacular mountain range which encompasses and protects…

Discovering Mallorca

By Murray Mitchell, 18 November 2016

Having previously visited her sister island Ibiza, I was intrigued to discover what Mallorca had to offer during my four night stay in mid- October. Despite being the largest of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca is easy to navigate. There are well-maintained motorways, clear signage and for the more confident driver, the winding coastal roads offer incredible views. Cycling is very popular here…
