The astronomer Copernicus used to stay in this house when he travelled to Krakow as a church emissary, and today his portrait hangs over the reception of this fine luxury hotel. Located in the heart of the city centre, close to Wawel Castle, the Copernicus has been beautifully restored to its original Gothic and Renaissance splendour. Drinks are served on the ‘Panorama Terrace’ in summer, with its spectacular view of the city’s spires. There is also a piano bar and as a member of ‘Relais & Châteaux’ a fine restaurant. A rare collection of historic books and manuscripts is on view in the ‘Fireplace Hall’ library. Below ground, in the Gothic vault is an indoor swimming pool. There are 29 beautifully furnished bedrooms.
