Sited on the slopes of the lush Paarl Valley, Grande Roche is a gracious, restored 18th century estate on a working wine farm. Reopening in July 2017 after a full refurbishment, the original manor house is one of the most perfect in the Winelands; it dates from 1707 and was awarded National Monument status in 1993.It is home to the traditional, multi-award winning ‘Bosman’s’ restaurant, with its acclaimed Relais Gourmand status. There are 28 bedrooms including some elegant suites housed in the grounds, all except two are thatched. There is a heated swimming pool, two tennis courts, a gym and sauna, and in addition, the hotel has links with Paarl Golf Club which is five minutes’ drive away. The hotel’s complimentary transfer vehicle is available for all visits within 10 miles.
