Short Break
Only a three and a half hour drive from Cape Town, Sanbona is one of South Africa’s largest private wildlife reserves and covers 54,000 hectares. Sanbona is also home to the only free-roaming pride of white lions in the world and the highly endangered Riverine rabbit. It also has seven recorded sites of San rock art dating back more than 3,500 years.Although Sanbona has the ‘Big Five’, the arid nature and sheer scale of the reserve makes sightings more intermittent than common. Sanbona has three lodges to choose from; Tilney Manor, Dwyka Lodge (luxury tented accommodation) and Gondwana Lodge for families. Sanbona is a great option for those wanting a safari within driving distance from Cape Town or makes a perfect stop for those taking the route 62 to the Garden Route.
