Valencia is an incredible city to visit in November, with bright and sunny weather that isn’t too hot, making it the perfect antidote to winter in the UK. Here’s how to make the most of your short break in this vibrant coastal city.
Day 1:
In the morning, take a leisurely walk around Rusafa, a neighbourhood known for its beautiful architecture, indoor food market, and clothes market. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and get a feel for the city.
For lunch, enjoy tapas at Anyora, a hidden gem in Rusafa. The dishes are outstanding, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal.
In the afternoon, head to the City of Arts and Sciences, where you can explore an interesting exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci, featuring recreations of all his inventions. Spend some time outside the museum, soaking up the sun and admiring the stunning buildings designed by Santiago Calatrava. The collection of museums is the central highlight in a park that stretches through the whole city, built in the dried-up bed of the old river. It's a wonderful place to relax among the locals.

Next, visit the Oceanographic aquarium, one of the largest in Europe. Make sure to go early, as there’s so much to see, including an incredible collection of tropical fish, sea lions, dolphins, sharks, and whales.
For dinner, visit Tinto Fino, a popular spot with an intimate, homely feel. The burrata salad is a must-try, and the attentive staff and lovely owner add to the welcoming atmosphere.

Day 2:
On your second day, head to the beach, easily accessible by public transport or taxi. We chose to be dropped off by the harbour and walked down for about an hour to reach the main strip of restaurants. Enjoy lunchtime paella on the beach, soaking up the November sun. I’d highly recommend watching the sun go down and enjoying a cocktail at the rooftop bar Soul of 1927. This is a great way to relax and take in the beautiful views of the city. For dinner, dine at Jamon Jamon. The dishes were excellent, with the pork cheek in pumpkin mash and cuttlefish cooked in its own ink being standout options. The patatas bravas were beautifully presented, and the intimate atmosphere, along with lovely service from the waiter, made for a memorable evening. Overall, Valencia is the perfect destination for a short winter break. There's so much to do, making it ideal for families or those looking to engage in various activities. The city is easy to navigate on foot or by public transport. Visit Valencia now and experience its charm for yourself!
