At the foot of Palatine Hill and overlooking the Roman Forum, the Circus Maximus, Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum are a short walk away. The famous ‘Bocca della Verità’ in the church of St. Maria in Cosmedin is also close by. 

A former Franciscan convent, the building dates from 1625 and many historical features remain; although the style of furnishings is modern and contemporary, particularly in the 72 spacious bedrooms. After a busy day’s sightseeing there are plenty of places to relax, including a lounge bar, a panoramic roof terrace and a peaceful courtyard garden where lunch and dinner are served in fine weather.

Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel: Although best known for Michelangelo’s work in the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms, there is much more of interest including the Etruscan Museum, the Tapestries Gallery and the Vatican’s own important art collection (closed Sundays).
