Short Break
The UNESCO-recognised Val d’Orcia has a rich cultural heritage and yet is a relatively undiscovered region of Tuscany. It is a little off the beaten track and perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet in beautiful, rolling countryside. The owners of this farmhouse which dates from the 17th century, Luca and Claudia Bernetti, have created a rural hideaway with a focus on personal service and sustainability.
There are just nine bedrooms, each beautifully restored and with characterful features retained, such as brick floors, beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. Whether you are relaxing in your room, lying by the summer swimming pool or enjoying typical Tuscan dishes in the Taverna di Mozart, you will be able to enjoy outstanding, bucolic views. Locanda in Tuscany is an ideal base from which to explore – the idyllic hill town of Castiglione d’Orcia is 15 minutes away and both Montepulciano and Montalcino can be reached in 30 minutes. Hotel open 28 March - 1 January.
28 March - 30 May, 29 September - 19 December: 3 nights for the price of 2; 31 May - 28 September: 3 nights for the price of 2 excluding Friday & Saturday nights, saving £180.
