Short Break
The Balzac recently reopened after a multi-million-Euro renovation, re-establishing itself as one of the most luxurious and romantic boutique hotels in Paris. Located in a quiet street close to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées, the hotel’s history dates back to the mid-19th century when the building was purchased by the French novelist, Honoré de Balzac. Today, its 58 rooms and suites are sumptuously decorated to create a classical yet contemporary feel. There is a lounge bar and the hotel is also home to the three-star Michelin restaurant, ‘Pierre Gagnaire’ – reservations essential (closed at weekends, August and Christmas).

Musée d’Orsay
According to Pierre Auguste Renoir, “a picture should be a pleasant thing, joyful and pretty”. In the first retrospective of his work to be held in Paris since 1985, the Musée d’Orsay will display Renoir’s works between the 1860s and the 1880s.
