The ‘Courtyard of the Crow’ is one of the oldest hotels in Europe, it first opened as a hotel in 1528 and has played a role in the history of Strasbourg over the following 500 years: Prussian King Frederick the Great stayed here incognito in 1740. It is classified as a 'Monument Historique'.
Despite the introduction of modern facilities and a more contemporary style in the 63 bedrooms, the property has retained many of its original features, including the mediaeval half-timbered façades and wooden galleries, which surround the quiet courtyard. Hidden away, the hotel has a feeling of tranquility but is conveniently located only five minutes’ walk from the cathedral in the old town and very well placed to explore the city.
