This is a beautiful, traditional but completely refurbished hotel located in a narrow, semi-pedestrianised street just off the ‘Ramblas’, around the corner from the famous Liceu Opera House. The Gothic cathedral, Plaza Real, Boqueria covered market and the revitalised harbour are all just a few steps away. The 82 bedrooms are not large but are very well furnished, each with full bathroom or (more usually) shower room. There is also a cocktail bar, the ‘La Fonda’ restaurant, a roof-top terrace with late-night bar and small summer plunge pool. In the immediate surrounding area of the hotel you will also discover many bars, shops and restaurants; this is, after all, very much the downtown district of liberal Barcelona, and the nightlife reflects this accordingly.
