A feature of many of the paradors is their spectacular natural settings and the one in Aiguablava is no exception. It is situated high up on the rocky Punta d’es Muts peninsula surrounded by pine trees and overlooking the sea on both sides. A modern whitewashed building on three floors, there are 78 spacious and comfortable bedrooms with balconies and wonderful sea views. There is a fitness centre and a large swimming pool surrounded by sun-loungers, and steps lead through the trees down to a secluded sandy cove. There are beachside restaurants, or you can eat in the hotel’s more formal dining room which serves typical Catalan seafood dishes. The hotel can arrange boats for guests to explore the many hidden coves in the vicinity.
