Just 30 minutes by train from Seville (45 minutes by car), the small city of Carmona is an ancient Roman settlement with a dramatic location overlooking the surrounding plains of Andalusia. There are more than 500 archaeological sites in the area, and the Parador itself is located in the centre of Carmona, close to the Puerta de Sevilla, the Teatro Cerezo and the Town Hall. Built in a reconstructed 14th century-Islamic fortress, the Parador’s facilities include a large open-air swimming pool, terraces overlooking the countryside and a charming inner courtyard surrounded by tranquil sitting rooms. The restaurant is situated in the former refectory and offers traditional cuisine with an Arabic influence and organic produce from the garden.
