Sister property to the Pavillon de la Reine, this charming little hotel is in the heart of the right bank: the Grand Palais, Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées are less than 15 minutes on foot, and the Palais Garnier is about 20 minutes away. Taking literature as inspiration, the 26 compact but stylish rooms are each assigned to an author, with one for each letter of the alphabet. There is a cosy lounge with a fireplace, honesty bar and afternoon charcuterie platters served every day – the perfect restorative after a day’s sightseeing in Paris. Although surprisingly quiet for its central location, perhaps because the French president lives next door (the Elysée Palace is around the corner), there are many excellent bars and restaurants within walking distance.
